Last week’s Bright Young Things episode with The Music manager Tim Vigon was quite nostalgic for the band and Music fans alike. This week we welcome big brother Tom Nutter for another perspective on this pivotal moment in The Music history. 

In 2000, the band Insense took 1^st place in a Leeds City Council competition called Bright Young Things. That night they not only won the competition, but they caught the eye of their soon to be manager, Tim Vigon. This week on the Music and More Podcast Adam and Pete welcome The Music’s manager and biggest fan to take us back to the early days of Bright Young Things, signing the band, touring, Temple Newsam and much more.  

A B-side was originally known as the song on the flip side of a 12" or 7" vinyl single. Depending on who you ask, B-side can be additional songs that were determined not to fit with the overall sound of an album, or some might classify B-sides as second class citizens; subpar compared to the songs on the A-side. On this episode, Adam and Pete discuss B-sides and how they fit into a bands catalogue of work.

I’ve heard it said that many musicians are the sum of their influences. A big part of who they have become were shaped by all the other artists they listened to and looked up to; whose songs they sang; and whose moves they tried to copy. On this episode of Music and More, Pete and I discuss what music influenced the various songs and albums in The Music as well as what is currently the influence of future creativity.
